BEIJING, February 5, 2008 – Shihua Financial Information’s 500+ staff nationwide joined hands to make a donation to the snow storm stricken area in Southern China, prior to the Chinese New Year Festival.

Persistent snow since mid-January, the worst in 50 years in central, eastern and southern China, has led to death, structural collapse, blackouts, accidents, transport problems and livestock and crop destruction. Severe weather has also created transportation crisis as major highways, railroads and airports are closed, leaving millions of travelers stranded. The situation is further worsened by the busiest travel season in China as people head home for the traditional Chinese New Year holiday.

In the process of assisting Shihua’s staff who were not able to return home to celebrate the holidays with their family, Shihua’s management learned that many were also looking for ways to contribute and assist the people in the storm stricken areas. Donation centers were immediately set up at the Shihua headquarters, subsidiaries and representative offices throughout China.

Bettina Yang, General Manager of Shihua said, “This is our humble way to extend a simple helping hand to the snow-disaster victims and pitch in to aid disaster recovery. All the contributions from our staff represent their genuine concerns and desire to assist. The key is not just about money or the amount of funds, but about their heartfelt sympathy. We are proud of their efforts, sense of community and responsibility to their fellows. We hope the disaster recovery efforts are successful and travelers will be able to reunite with their family for the New Year safely.”

The donation effort initiated by Shihua prior to the Chinese New Year holiday will send “warmth” to the victims. The contribution continues to add up, and all donations will be given to the CHANGSHA CHARITY (CSC).
